 IGN has picked up on some Winning Eleven 8 news that WE8 in Japan will be online enabled. The title will be WE8: Live-ware Evolution.

So let's get a few things straight. WE8 will not be online for the Xbox here in the US. Yet, it was released for XBox Live in Europe. WE8 will be online for the PS2 in Japan, but will not be online for the PS2 in the US or Europe. On top of that, Konami will change the name of their game again.
Do you think Konami is in a competition with EA to see who can piss off more customers? Atleast EA's strategy is to piss them off, then take their money. Konami's is just to piss them off.
As for the positives, the game will include new teams and updated rosters (updates as in at one point in the last decade these rosters were accurate). If you are importing it looks like the Japanese version will include six languages. Let's hope one of those is English. |
