According to 1up.com, EA sports is looking to secure exclusive rights to the NCAA Football license. There's no mention regarding whether this potential exclusive deal would also apply to other NCAA properties (for example, NCAA basketball).
Since the deal hasn't been announced yet, you can voice your concerns and make a difference. So here is the contact information for the Senior Director of Non-Apparel Marketing at the Collegiate Licensing Company. This includes video games and video game marketing.

The CLC also has a consumer feedback page where you can voice your concerns. You can express your concerns directly to Dave Kirkpatrick and/or express them at the consumer feedback page.
If you contact the CLC, please be polite and clear with your criticism. Feel free to mention what you think about the quality of NCAA 2005 (in polite terms) and how you are afraid that the lack of competition may have contributed to the quality of that product. Also, you can express more general concerns regarding exclusive licenses in sports gaming (our take on the EA/NFL deal has a list of issues with exclusive licensing in sports gaming).
Here is your chance to have a voice.
